Letter from the President
Welcome to the 2009 chapter year from the Maryland Chapter of ACHE. If you are reading this, you may be one of almost 800 ACHE members who work or reside in the state of Maryland, or one of approximately 500 non-members who was positively impacted by ACHE over the last several years. Our attendance at meetings has shown substantial growth, which we attribute to the caliber of programs and continued performance improvement.
As I write this message, I am in the process of setting all my clocks ahead.
I look at this chapter year in the same manner. We are moving forward in the direction charted by the membership survey completed in 2008, interviews with leaders at all levels of organizations, and other feedback received. Your chapter board met earlier this year and discussed our priorities. The priorities are very clear, including increasing membership satisfaction through better engagement, programs, and outreach. We recognize that not every program will appeal to everyone. With that being said, we truly want to hear from you as to what programs you would like to see, the duration (more all-days, some half-days, etc.) and timing of the programs (morning, noon, night, etc.).
As a Board, we are committed to fulfilling your expectations. We are dedicated to, as with the clocks, “springing forward” and ensuring that your valuable time is well spent. In the forthcoming months, you will see several changes in the delivery of programs, services, and contact with Maryland’s leaders. One change we instituted with our March meeting included upgrading the dinner menu to include Filet and Salmon. Our May 29th meeting will be our Annual Executive Roundtable. Please do not hesitate to reach out to the Board or me if we can do anything to better support you and your needs.
All the best for 2009.
Randy
